Caen – A City Rich in History — Caen is worth discovering beyond the Memorial. The city is closely associated with William the Conqueror, who founded the Abbaye aux Hommes in the 11th century. The abbey church still houses his tomb, while the historic centre, the Château de Caen and the city’s museums provide plenty to explore during a day in Caen.

Bayeux – Medieval Normandy and D-Day History — Bayeux was liberated on 7 June 1944 and escaped much of the destruction suffered by other Norman towns, leaving its historic centre remarkably well preserved. Today, visitors can explore its medieval streets, cathedral and the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy.

Please note: the Bayeux Tapestry Museum is currently closed for major renovation work and is scheduled to reopen in 2027. The 11th-century Bayeux Tapestry, listed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register, is therefore not currently on display in Bayeux.

The D-Day Landing Beaches — A visit to the Landing Beaches is one of the most significant historical experiences in Normandy. Depending on the itinerary you choose, you can discover sites such as Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, military cemeteries, museums and preserved sections of the Atlantic Wall.
